About the Practice

Michael Trice, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who treats every patient as he would his friends and family: with the highest degree of personalized care. Dr. Trice specializes in treating injuries and arthritis of the knee, hip, and shoulder at Complete Orthopaedics in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Trice earned his bachelor’s degree at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, before completing his medical degree at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He stayed on at Harvard to finish both his orthopedic residency training and a sports medicine fellowship. He went on to complete a total joint fellowship at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California.

Dr. Trice delved deeper into advanced techniques in cartilage transplantation from Dr. Lars Peterson in Sweden and Dr. Tom Minas in Boston, Massachusetts. Before moving to Houston, Dr. Trice was an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the director of the Johns Hopkins Cartilage Restoration Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

With a commitment to providing patients with the best care available, Dr. Trice has been a trailblazer in many sophisticated treatments, including cartilage restoration, arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, and total and partial hip and knee replacements.

In addition to being one of the most experienced cartilage transplant surgeons in the United States, Dr. Trice also has expertise in caring for sports injuries like anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, fractures, and spinal disorders.

Dr. Trice tries to resolve all issues with nonsurgical treatments, but when surgery is necessary, he doesn’t hesitate to provide patients with the best possible outcome. For patient-centered orthopedic care in a welcoming environment, call Complete Orthopaedics, or book an appointment online today.
